?FS: Strip/Sell Pinnacle Ramin 3+

So I'm in this dilemma of being slightly broke. Mainly probably cos of bad money management but also for always wanting to ride nice things, go nice places and all that stuff.

Right, so currently I'm technically bikeless (unless off course you class the road bike as a proper bike) and the problem with this is that I might not be able to ride the Bearbones200 (well, you know, 'attempt' to ride). I had to stop myself from almost buying an £85 SR Suntour fork (brandnew) to go on the Santa Cruz. Ideally and eventually I'd like a lovely SID for it.

Along with that I'm in the dilemma of having limited space, dyslexia and poor organisational skills. Maybe the classififeds was the wrong place to pop this thread in and maybe if the £800 frame with 5 year warranty, which I spent half a year saving up for and then a year building hadn't fractured in 2000 xc miles/18ish months I'd not be in my predicament. I'm not trying to slate the company here and sorry for mentioning the bar-stewards...

So, what I'm thinking of doing to make the whole process less tricky is like what Ton did... Just factor down to the one bike. This would mean selling bits from the Ramin and it's frame to fund the Santa Cruz. I suppose I should open a project thread somewhere to organise my thoughts and possibly nab some items from peoples 'best' spare parts box at reasonable prices.

Sorry for the sob story... Here's what I might have for sale and if I could get the max amount for em then that would be really really great

_______________€__

Pinnacle Ramin 3+ frame with original steel forks. One (actually 2) hole(s) drilled with some input (not endorsement) from the frame designer. Hole at the point where he thought its safest/strongest to make it and no sharp edges. This helped me get the internal dropper in there. Its orange and AFAIR medium. How much would you like to pay or suggest me a price pls?

Eccentric Bottom bracket. Not removed it yet but will do as soon as some interest. Cant envisage any problems with it...

Brand X dropper post. Internal routing. Has some slight side to side play but nothing that concerned me. Serviced it fully about 300 miles ago and it's a lovely bit of kit. No remote, sorry as it's something I upgraded and will keep for the SC. Offers?? 31.6mm I think it is (but will measure up when I get asked/interest).

Tires.. in 27.5 flavour. Mainly plus tires and I might have some chronicles in there as well as some rocket rons. Again, offers please

XT cranks... quite possibly for sale but I'm finding it hard wanting to part with them. Good offer would get em you...

Pls help with some good offers. Pics can be taken once any interest. Drivetrain I'll be keeping but I might have a brandnew slx shifter (rear type b or whatever it is without the clamp) for sale since I will be transferring the XT across to the SC.

Ta

Keep the Ramin - which is a whole and rideable bike (at least it was when you came to Dartmoor) and sell the Santa Cruz frame. As it’s brand new and unused and in short supply you will almost certainly be able to get all of your money back.

Nah... the Ramin isn't whole anymore. The wheels went back to thier rightful former keeper (Allen). I did order a rear hub to build the back wheel but it seems its coming via telegram or something... Already been a week ut I do have the rear carbon rim ready to build into.

Then there is the slight problem with not having a front hub or rim to build but it all needs to be cheap as chips. Problem then is funding the SC build might be costly and hence much easier just moving parts straight across. At least I've fulfilled my need to ride a b+ Ramin (and what a bike it is) to check if it was all hype (nope... it is fantastical)

Difficult to argue with this logic. You'll inevitably want to build the SC with all expensive components, always seeing something more shiny. It could be a long road.

Oh, and the problem is compounded at the moment due to parts (un)availability and subsequent high prices. I need to buy a new(spare) XT BB for my Pact and will have to pay twice what I previously did.

Don't take this the wrong way Shaf, but just my reading of the situation and meant in a constructive way :-bd
You seem a bit all over the place with bikes, buying selling etc, I think that probably stresses you out and probably costs you more in the long run?
Try and stick to a couple of cheap bikes untill financies improve.
Remember It's not all about the bling bike but more about the time on the bike, Some of my best adventures have been on my budget bikes. Think hard about what you need to do on it. The ramin has no suspension to service so thats a saving every year. It runs basic cheaper components that last, yes they might be a few grams hevier but who cares your not racing right
If you dont want to sell the santa cruz then stick it in the loft until you feel flush and all other bills are upto date.
Just my 2 cents worth

I think Robbie's on the money here (no pun intended, if there even is one). If you've got a nice frame like the Santa Cruz, you don't want to be compromising on the build, and building up yourself, even the small parts for modern high end full suspension bikes are going to rinse you. £20 for a shifter mount here... £30 for a seatpost clamp there... £75 Invisframe kit so you don't ruin your expensive new frame... etc.

Not sure I can be much help otherwise, but might be interested in a 27.5+ front tyre if you have something decent.

Lol...

Thanks for the input guys. But you're all wrong :-bd

The Ramin has been blinged oout and looks nothing like what I got it as. I only bought it (literally) to check out how good really it was/is. Now since selling the wheels on it leaves me in a good situation of selling some bits on there which would fund the SC.

SC
XTR rear mech. Sorted as it comes across
Carbon bars: sorted as they come across with the SLX brakes.
Rear hubs: sorted as they come across from the broken Sonder... just need 29er rims to build the boost wheels into
Cranks and BB: already in as i had spare
Chain and rear cassette: sorted from removal from the Ramin when the wheels got sold.

Ramin
Needs full set o wheels thats all. But the cost means it might be easier to get it to fund the forks on the SC.

 Now what do you say??

NB. Oh... dropper post and headset also needed.

Problem with saving and getting extra parts for the SC again and leavijg the Ramin rideable... sooner or later I will have 2 bikes with the Ramin being blingy and needing to sell it... It would never fetch back what its worth.

Conver tape: tick that also as its waiting to be applied patiently
