Saw the strangest thing today.

I was waiting to cross the road in Edinburgh's south side today when I noticed a guy on what initially looked like a heavily loaded MTB. On closer inspection the front end was an MTB but the frame from behind the head tube dropped down to the ground and ran back along the ground scooter style to a 14 inch wheel. He was heavily loaded with front and back panniers and when the lights changed off he went, two pushes with the left foot then change feet and two pushes with the right foot as it was indeed a home made scooter. The guys clothing (jeans and sweatshirt) and all his gear were very scruffy and worn, he looked as though he had been on the road for some considerable time. Anyone else seen this guy anywhere? Wonder how many miles he's done? Would have loved to have been able to speak to him even if he was a nutter.

Haven't seen your 'scooter guy' I'm afraid, but not surprised someone has taken to the road on one - they seem pretty useful machines in the hands (under the foot/feet?) of a pro; remember a few years back being left in the dust by a guy on one at the Mountain Mayhem... Hop, scoot, hop scoot, hop scoot and gone!
