Hi all newbie here...
I'm an fairly experienced road cyclist but new to mtb and bike packing...
I have a cycle to work voucher burning a hole in my pocket, my two choices I've narrowed it down to either a voodoo hoodoo but really like the pure simplicity of the kona unit 29er
Any thoughts?

I always liked the Kona Unit, seems to sit right somehow. I assume the Unit's still singlespeed ?
If I had C2W cash then I'd also be having a look over at On One ... 29" Inbred or Scandal maybe ?

yes the unit is still single speed and has a nice steel frame. i really like the simplicity as so far this year ive already bought two deraliuers for my hybrid as it gets used for everything so one just fell to pieces after a winter of abuse and offroad and the second bent in a crash.
would love the inbred 29er and have been and had a look... on one is about 7 miles from me..but they dont do halfords vouchers

... (halfords will special order the kona)

Sorry, didn't realise it had to be Halfords. If it's a straight choice between the Kona and Voodoo, I'd go Kona ... but have you looked at the Boardmans ?

Ignoring any thoughts of practicality:
A raw steel finish kona with 90's graphics....coool.
Back to Voodoo's, a mate has one and it's a nice bike and great VFM. I see they have a couple of (ally) 29ers. The most expensive of which is 200 quid less than the Kona and has adjustable chainstays so perhaps could be made rigid/ss with the £200 spare and parts left over vs buying the Kona. Also (having done halfords c2w) if they get in a bike/you go to participating LBS you pay RRP. If you get a halfords bike you pay the offer price (if reduced) AND get a voucher equal to 10% of the bike price to spend on bits. £60 would get a new lid/tyres/15 cans of GT85, etc!
