If you're wanting a lid for your 450ml mug, sneak into the kitchen and steal the lid off the gravy granules (you might be safer waiting until they're all used first). It's a good fit (not too snug or too lose) and weighs about 7g

But you can only use it until just after Christmas.

Beef or chicken?
I don't think it matters really. The lid in the pic is chicken if that helps

How does it cope with heat?

Seems okay. It goes slightly bendy with the steam but still retains it's shape. Obviously I wouldn't want to put it near a flame

I imagine it'd be much too small. Doesn't the JetBoil come with a lid, I thought it did ?

Oh yes! But after weighing my rather heavy weight kit for this weekends cold bike packing trip to the dales (2 nights) it came in (bike included) to a mere 32lb, 1 lb less than last years winner I believe ;-)
Edit: excuse the minor thread hijack, I think the tip in question is very clever

Ben, I'd be interested to know what your kit list is?

You can't win the weigh in with a jetboil.
Stuart won't let you for a start :D

I think you'll find, I'll be in charge of the weigh in.
Bribes gratefully accepted.

I will do a kit list after the event, but for now I suspect the main factor is my bike weighs so little compared to most MTB's :-D
