Have been toying with getting one and now noticed they are not in stock anyway!
I do like the look of their Wild Oasis tarp but it's quite a different shelter

Any other suggestions?

BPWD Lair is similar ... well it is if you get the floating floor and extended beak.

Sil Mini-Peak? Not quite the same approach but reasonable weight and a good price. I'd go for the Lair though - thing of beauty, that is.

Lair + beak + pyra looks nice but end up quite a bit more expensive :?:
mini peak quite a bit heavier

I always thought that one of the most versitile shelters would be:
Lair without beak or vent $129.
PyraNet 1 with 10" extensions on 3 sides and a 'custom' silnylon door cover over the mesh $120 + $door cover.
A set up like this would give a number of options and be suitable right through the year. There's enough overhang on a standard Lair to cook under and stash a bit of gear. It also does away with zips and quite a bit of weight.

I have the lair without the beak. Saving up for the pyra net probably with silnylon extensions. The lair is a good shelter. Easily and quickly set up. Looking for a lighter weight pole. Got an MSR one which is a touch heavy. Your welcome to try out the lair restless. See what you think of it.

Right had another look at BPWD website and the 'extras' make a bit more sense now after reading this.
I think a standard lair + pyra with 4 side extensions would suit but it gets a bit pricey.
I will have to do something now as I have stupidly ebayed myself into a position with no shelters (other than a 2 man tent!)
Cheers Mike but I don't want to use a bivi bag really (not helped by not having one now) so I need to try something with an inner(ish) or sides that go to ground all round

How bothered are you about it being a pyramid style shelter?
These look like they'd be pretty versitile:

and these are a dead ringer for the old Integral Designs SilDome:

EDIT: Just thought ... what's putting you off the Wild Oasis? You'd need a groundsheet but it's got netting al the way round.

Just want to be able to sit up really
that does look good, looks huge without the nest in
I am a gigantic 5'8" so the nest looks small if it's needed

only that no one here seems to have one and have lunar solos :?
it looks very flexible to me though just you can't sit with the door open if it's midge time but that's livable with
will try and look for some reviews
cheers for the input

In a rare moment of not dithering today I ordered a wild oasis with carbon pole and a tyvek groundsheet
