Following on from my are 100mm hardtails dead, has anyone seen a nice singlespeed ready frame recently?

I known I could use a tensioner, but I don't want to. I also don't want a surly, or a sonder.

100mm travel preferred, 120 at a push, 29er,

In the suggest what youve just ordered, a pipedream sirius s5, im going to run it singlespeed and rigid to start with but probably move my pikes onto it at some point at 120mm

I did look at the sirrus briefly, I was a bit confused by the seat angle and couldn't really see what a-c the frame was designed at.
I was a little worried that if I put a 100mm fork on, or my rigid one, the seat angle would get even steeper!

Niners are nice for sure. Unit is bike only (but cheaper at that than some frames). Forgot about the pivot ta.

From when i asked the geo on the website is based on a 120mm fork sagged at 25% which is the equivalent a to c of their rigid fork, I can hopefully give sone more details after the frame turns up

I kind of like the klunker, but i muck around with buke builds too much to commit to a special fork.

...If I had the dollar I'd ask Ricky Feather to make something being Yorkshire lad also.

Feather are lovely looking things. But.. i do struggle a bit to see where a 3k custom frame adds significant value to the customer on top of a 1.2k custom frame from curtis or swarf. (Assuming feather are still that level)

I get that the LONG established custom guys may not have to factor in the facility and machine costs etc but there's a huge price range in the hand made arena.

Absolutely not questioning the cost base of small business, don't thing there's any millionaires in that area.... But for me, there's other options.

My Smokestone Mr Harry frame has a sliding rear drop out, takes up to 29+, frame will take a 120mm fork too.

I expect it's down to how much time goes into them based on how far you take the customisation. If you want something very specific in detail and paint it would easily double the time that goes into it? There's a bit of reputation-added-value or RA£ I'm sure, though that rep doesn't come easily and I don't begrudge any of them that (not suggesting you do either tbc)

If you wanted a great value UK custom try Lee Cooper? Give him a geometry and a tube spec, it could prob be same price as may Asia-made OTP frames. Just follow a frame layout you like and get SS ends fitted. If you need a hand with lay out of bikecad files let me know, happy to help if the order's going his way.

Ive now decided I'm specifically looking for a ti frame. Plusses and minuses aside, that's what I want

SS capable with sildey drops. Im also now fine with 120mm forks.

I saw a lovely ti salsa ss earlier, a Selma, but as it was in my shed and it's the only one I know of in the UK that's not much help

But being serious, you've got the ti timberjack on the list and once at Salsa ti money you could go custom? And then you could get exactly the bike you want.

Sean, custom.? I only know of a few and they're way more than salsa money. Probably a better warranty though!
Did you have any in mind? My experience of custom builders so far isnt great.

Yeah i saw that. Ive not yet found out what sort of wheel works with them. 142 / 135 / 148 etc. I assume its 135 spaced.
I also note that stanton cant currently suplly said dropouts.

Both Jones and Stooge use EBB, although different formats (Stooge has bolts on the shell itself).

Any, ebb or sliders. I like SS and I like gears. I swap bike configurations a lot too.

Not the only Selma. Mate of mine has two. He's too short or I'd have nicked one of them by now.
