Evening all,

Does anyone on here have one of these and could give a bit of a review, as ive had a bit of a look online and cant find much information.
I would probably look to run it singlespeed with 29er tyres for quick jaunts from home and the odd commute to work.

Sorry, I can't help with Alice, but got myself a Moxie two years ago.

The finish of the frame was fantastic. Precise fitting, everything's well positioned, perfectly made sliding dropouts (run mine ssp too and it's a pleasure to adjust them) and a very solid ED treatment. Not a sign of rust in two years. The riding feel is amazing. Flex in the right place, great geo and all that.
Only tiny nag is the paint has become a bit dulled with all the lifting, carrying, frame bags rubbing etc. It sees a lot of dirt and I don't often clean it. I guess that's the reason, rather than a sensitive coat.

I had some particular ideas for the frame and sent them a few questions and not just got them answered quickly by Alan Finlay himself, but also some insights on design/geo choices, riding experience and other background info.

Originally, I wanted a Pacenti P-Dent bar/stem combo to go with the long reach and slack head angle (510 mm and 63.2°), but everywhere I asked, they were out of stock.
Alan, genius he is, got some from the second batch and not much later, I was able to put a set on my bike. As if he could read thoughts.
Superb stuff.

You get a lot for your money at Pipedream.

I can highly recommend buying from them and am sure the Alice will give you just as much fun as the Moxie gives me.

Moxie is a wonderful frame. Rode a friends, really liked it. Almost bought one.

The ALICE is an interesting bike (join of the seatstay to TT I dislike) but it looks like it could be quite nice to ride.

That moxie looks amazing in the snow.
I have a few other bikes i am thinking about but if i go for a alice ill let you all know how it is.

It rides just as amazing.

I built up a v1 ALICE earlier this year as a relaxed mile-muncher.

It's not light but feels comfortable and stable - a great multipurpose bike!

I think the fork on the new v2 version has been slimmed down a bit to save weight and give some more comfort.

I can't stop looking at this frame.

Al... You're not alone here. The fact that Gian has a Pipedream got me looking at em. Proper cheap for a handbuilt frame locally and everyone seems to say good things about em...

I'm thinking on having a clear out... So if be allowed... But saying that, one in one out has never been a problem as I don't keep count haha.

There's a thread on STW about them, I was fancying a Bridge Club but have been swayed by the fact you can fit a proper 29" tyre on the A.L.I.C.E.

They are also a perfect match for the Thorn biplane forks if that's your thing.

Because you already know what PD owners learned; they ride great (despite the numbers which may look odd to some), well made in all instances, have the looks and the company is lovely to deal with.

I usually don't sign in to newsletters. But even here... PD does a great job. Not many emails, just highly relevant stuff to empty your wallet, like deals before a new batch arrives etc.

I haven't bought one. My tough road is pretty dirty... Time to sort that out...

Well I thought I'd better report back with what I went for.

In the end I did get a pipedream but went for the sirius and its companion rigid fork over the Alice.

This is so it can be a fun hardtail with angles that I feel confident on, haven't had a big ride on it yet just a play in the garden but its been good so far.

Set up ss to be used as a quick blast bike from home or quick laps of trail centre
