2014 Nukeproof Mega TR275 Pro XL (20"), 650B, 150/130mm travel

Post by thenorthwind »

Been thinking for a while about replacing my full-on enduro bike with something a bit more bikepacking-friendly (thinking lighter shorter travel 29er), and realised that since it's not getting used, maybe a good first step would be to sell this one! Due to lockdown and other riding, I've used it once this year: for two hours at Glentress.

Thinking £1200 is a reasonable asking price, but it's hard to tell without seeing others in similar condition/spec. Not in a rush to sell, but would rather avoid the bunfight of Gumtree/eBay/Facebook marketplace if at all possible. Would prefer not have to courier, but if you're keen I'm sure we could work something out.

I've owned it from new and it's in good condition and been well looked after, but inevitably with a bike like this there are dings, scratches and scuffs that show it's been used. They're all aesthetic though, and it's mechanically sound. I've just done a full service on the fork (air spring, damper and lowers) using genuine a Rockshox kit.

Still a great enduro bike. Burly alloy frame. Modern geometry but not stupidly long/low/slack. Pro version with lock-out fork/shock for more efficient climbing. Might not be the ideal bikepacking bike, but I did the Lakeland 200 on it.

This is still sitting in my spare bedroom "office" watching me take conference calls, mainly because I'm still reluctant to flog it round Facebook Marketplace. Anyone want to make me an offer? It's a bit off-topic here I suspect.

Considering splitting it if I can't sell it whole since I can post bits out more easily - it's more hassle but I can probably do the dismantling/packing on someone else's dime if I remember to mute  - so let me know if there's any interest in parts, particularly the frame, fork and wheels.
