Not had a chance read it all, but looking forward to it and hoping it will lead to some more amazing adventures.

It's very good but I think it's perhaps more a guide for those not having gone before - folk from overseas or south of Birmingham perhaps?

As we often say Here, "Guide" and "Bikepacking" are uneasy bedfellows and potentially oxymoronic, so fair play to them acknowledging that from the off: "Of course, if you fill in all the answers, then the adventure ceases to exist. But don’t worry, that’s not what we’re here for". Couple of useful comments re ticks at the end, expressing surprise they'd not been warned about.

I always figure Bikebacking.com is a largely US based readership, so yes, more of a guide to folks coming from overseas. The section on language to me seemed very much aimed at an overseas crowd who had never heard anyone speak with a Scottish accent before except on TV.

Completely agree. I enjoyed reading it, smirking and nodding along to a few of the points.
Enjoyed the language bit too, learnt something there.
I thought it would read to some folk in a similar way that I would read an equally good article about somewhere like Colorado, somewhere I haven't been and would enjoy an insider's perspective.

You canny get a ferry from the UK to Norway. There are no passenger ferry links from the UK to Scandinavia at all any more and haven't been any since 2016.
Also Neil Oliver is an arse.
But it's a good article apart from that

Well, if I was going to recommend a book on Scottish History, I certainly wouldn't have recommended anything by him. He seems to have made a habit of controversial opinion, much of it rewriting known facts.

My Jacobite historian friend is not a fan of Neil Oliver
