So, I've just been a talk in Brecon by chap called Rick Minter, the author of a book called Big Cats.

Basically reviewing the evidence in support of there being a population of big cats in the UK, and in Wales. Lots of pictures of carcasses stripped bare in a very short period, foot prints, scat, photos of huge claw marks in trees etc. No doubt about it, black panthers and lynx's are out there.

Got a two night bivvy trip planned this weekend too, great

Could be worse, the Norgies are forecasting snow.

Actually riding up to North Wales for a stag do ascent of Snowdon on Sunday. Taking the view that doing in whatever the prevailing conditions are might be useful prep for the Highland Trail.

I remember when it was the done thing to drink to within an inch of your life on a stag do, not climb bloody mountains.
When did this all happen?
Thinking about it, I didn't have a stag do as we eloped.

When did this all happen?
About the same time as people got into the habit of drinking to within a inch of their lives every bloody weekend. The discerning Stag has therefore had to find new territory within which to roam.

I have a feeling that dragging a bike to the top of Snowdon in the freezing cold and snow will be distinctly more memorable than just getting blind drunk.

Unless of course, I get eaten by a black panther on the way up there ;)

Getting eaten by a big cat on a stag do - that does make a change and I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere - but i wont say it!

On stag nights we used to go looking for big lasses, not big cats!

Not sure about panthers and lynxes, but I can imagine there's a few cougars you might need to watch out for in North Wales. Don't fancy your chances of getting out alive either!
