I’m looking to replace my Salsa Fargo for something lighter/more nippy.
Until 2018 I had a 3 main bikes - proper road bike, Surly Krampus and Genesis Vapour CX set up as gravel/adventure bike. The Vapour frame got killed in a crash so I replaced it with a Fargo.
As much as the Fargo is great it is too much like a mountain bike and I miss having a faster/lighter all-rounder.
So I’m looking for something more like the Vapour.

I need a frame/fork to suit a 6’2” rider so XL or 59-62cm or there about.
Disc brake with IS/post mount.
QR 135mm rear 100mm front
Threaded BB
700c/29er wheel size. Min tyre size 35mm but more would be better.
Ideally it would be 27.2mm seat post
Sliding dropouts or EBB would make my day.

I could buy it outright or there is an option to swap or part-ex in either direction for my Salsa Fargo frame/fork.

I've got an arkose xl frame for sale (no fork), would take 40mm+ 700c tyres, and is post mount and qr, standard dropout... My ad is somewhere page 2 or 3

60cm's available which is XL for these things as they are quite long

Will the head tube on the Arkose accept straight 1 1/8th steerer’s as well as tapered.

Anyone know what fork dimensions the frame was designed around.

It's a tapered headtube with push in is42/52 bearing, so will work with crown race converter or crown race depending on headset. I briefly used a 1/18th fork with a hope converter and it was fine. Forks I think are about 400mm A-C. James would know as he designed it I think!

Faustus. Thanks but it’s a no to the Arkose.
It’s very near what I want but I’d need get forks, headset and BB with this as well as the frame. For me that makes £150 for the frame expensive. Good luck selling.

Frame/fork acquired.
Transition Bikes Rapture CX bought on the Bay.
£300 all in and all components should straight swap. Deffo good for 35mm and probably 40mm tyres.
Not the lightest but reviewed as good for CX racing so not too podgy. Best of all it has sliding dropouts so the Rohloff will play well.

It will be.
I need to get the new frame delivered and built. Make sure I’m not making a mistake with the switch. Then the Fargo will be for a sale.
