Hi every one nice too be back.

Not been out and about over the winter, but now the weather is looking a little more hospitable thinking to drag out the bike and camping gear and having a few nights out over Bobmin moor again.

I’m not right on with the superlight weight gear, but do have a few bits and bobs to keep the weight down.

Thinking of a new stove and I’ve seen the Bio-lite with the USB charging, which for me would be very good as I like to take my IPhone and GoPro with me..

So anyone have one yet??? Are they any good???

I suspect the advice maybe to use some other power source (e.g. solar / dynamo hub) and any other lightweight stove (e.g. Stu's meths stoves) ratehr than pay £150 for a 1 kg stove.

I've only picked this up from reading discussions on the biolite, so not personal experience at all. And besides all that, if you want to try one, go for it. Be interesting to hear someone's real life experiences.

Personally I use a Ti gas burner and 250g (IIRC) cartridge in an Alpkit Mytimug. Does all the cooking I've needed so far, relatively light, relatively compact. Occassionally take a Myticup as well just so I've got a "clean" drinks cup - not a fan of noodle flavoured tea or booze

From the reports i've read and seen, they're not even that good at charging devices and require a lot of fuel to work effectively.
I saw somewhere, a pan that worked on a normal stove and did a similar thing more effectively.

Pesonally, I carry an external power source for charging devices (Vehu Pebble) and a spare phone battery (HTC).
