If anyone is interested, Backcountry biking in Aviemore are getting a delivery of wonderful Revelate gear tomorrow. I'm far too skint and really enjoying making my own stuff.

I like the look of Revelate gear but I think it is very expensive when you compare it to other products that are already available in the UK.

I guess the dream is that the myog bags will last a year, then I'll buy the Wildcat stuff which is a real bargain, but when I do the Alaska/NZ thing it's got to be the Revelate gear because it is truly wonderful, dependable kit (... or so I'm told}.

I've got both.
Whilst the Revelate stuff is good, I find Beth's gear so much better.
And it's not a ridiculous wait with another bill from customs at the end.

Back country biking are the UK distributor so there shouldn't be that nerve-racking wait and scary customs bill which puts me off buying from the US.

Yeah but the handle bar harness from BCB is nearly twice the price of Wildcats harness.

As far as the bar harness goes, me too. The Wildcat harness is excellent.

I had a Revelate sling (bar harness) - took ages to arrive, was not cheap and whilst it worked OK I always seemed to be adjusting it. After last years Easter? Brecon ride with Flatfish,Ian and Matt I decided Wildcat was the way forward (and it helped that I could pick one up from Ian and Beth there and then!)
The Wildcat set up is much better - set it up once and leave it alone - I cant fault it!

Blimey, that stuff looks expensive. I'm sure I only paid £40 ish for my medium tangle. Missed Customs and wasn't that slow.
I think the Wildcat and Bikpack stuff is great and can't see the extra expense as worth it.

Same here. If you look on the veloista site it appears that its cheaper through them. Thats where I ordered from & no customs (posted within EU)

I can hear the sound of illusions being shattered and sacred cows being shot, next you'll be telling me that Jones bikes are rubbish. I've found myog frame bag and bar harness as pretty easy but I'm scratching my head over saddle bag and thinking that Viscacha looks pretty near perfect although expensive. Thinking about dropping some big birthday present hints.

Nope, the Tangle is great but nowadays there are plenty of alternatives. Once upon a time Revelate was the only one. Bikepacks pricing looks a little "ambitious"compared to Alaska and veloista.
If I was after gear I'd look at Backcountrys and Wildcat. Great quality and reasonable prices.
On another note, what do you need to get a Revelate pocket to work with a Wildcat harness?

Hi
Thanks for mention Adrian.
Yeah we understand that price can be an issue for some but it is what it is. The gear is great quality as I'm sure some of the other available stuff is, I also use a Wildcat Tiger and the quality is good.
You pays your money and makes your choices.
See you on an adventure
