I've had this one a number of times.

My upcoming TransPyr trip has brought this all back up again too (though mostly with friends rather than the Mrs) as it'll be me with Kevin/Blackhound (who I've done a 3 day trip with previously), Duncan/Pistonbroke and his mate (never met either of 'em).

If I don't come back you'll know there was something to the whole 'axe murderer' thing!

I don't really think it's any stranger than meeting up in a carpark or at a trail centre for a days ride ... because that just sounds a little too much like dogging (but without the size 22 ladies).

I know someone who's always nervous of bothies for the 'nutter with an axe' reason. He also won't enter a bothie first for fear that someone's hung themselves from the beams ... very odd.
