Something wrong with me* - sleeping cold?

I reckon it must have been about 5 or 6 degrees last night. I was under cover but it was a bit draughty, I slept in a quality down bag with a (female) comfort rating of 0. I was on top of an Exped Synmat UL and I wore a base layer, 100wt fleece top and a RAB Generator smock ... and I wasn't warm
'Sleeping cold' seems to be getting worse the older I get. I'd had my tea before I went out, had a brew once I was pitched up, wasn't wet and hadn't flogged myself to death geting there. I'm begining to think that it's just one of those things ... anyone else suffer?
*Apart the the usual and/or obvious

On the back of a chest infection I slept cold last night. Phd minim 300 in a tent in my montane puffa jacket and hat. And I'm getting older too. 4 am pee saw me chill down.

Has it been worse since you stopped eating carbs? (wild stab in the dark)
Got a lower body fat % than previously? Fat people always seem to be warm

Has it been worse since you stopped eating carbs?
I'll say yes but I suppose the low carbs also coincides with the colder weather.
Got a lower body fat % than previously?
Yes, something like 14% down from 17% ... give or take.

I lost 40kg five years ago and definitely felt the cold. Went from being toasty under a Jacks R Better under quilt to needing a minimum of a three season bag. Fat is definitely warmer. :D

That's well below average and quite a drop, bound to be making a difference init

I've really noticed the difference in temperature with the low (no) carbs diet nonsense but then again I've also lost a stone in weight and so maybe that's just the fat too - hard to know really int' it???

I read several times that people who live in cold climates believe a high fat diet will keep you warm but to avoid sugars as they are quickly 'burnt' calories and end up making you feel colder - whale blubba for dinner should sort you out! (ps dwindling thyroid function also makes you intolerant to the cold - more common in women though!)
