Is this the ultimate bivvy bag or a very poor tent? The version above is under 700g and requires no poles due to the Nemo air beam.

Anyone tried one out?

Stephen huddle was selling his on one of his last calls to mtbcast near the end of the divide so read into that what you will.

When they first hit the market, reviews of them were very good. I've never seen one, I did have the air beam expedition tent on the possibles when I needed a 5 season tent, but again impossible to see one. Personally I think there are better 'ultimate' bivvies, and would suggest;

Both are eVent, both would survive hellish weather

Mike Hall used one on the Divide too.

They've got some nice details, such as the "swallow tail" foot box. They look like they'll be more bearable in bad weather than a tarp or bivvy bag would be. They're much less weight than any equivalent that I can find, and imagine as a result they pack down well. Air pole helps reduce bulk, eases putting the thing up (possibly) but is at risk of puncturing.

They do appeal ... just a shame about the price. There's a slightly bigger version with a ful mesh inner but it's around £350
