Anyone run a bladder in their frame bag? If so what size do you use and how do you find it?

I tried it with a 2l bladder once but found my framebag was really too small. The only way it would fit was in the bottom running up the down tube but then if you wanted to refill it you had to take everything out which in my case was not a lot. Also as the water level dropped things started to rattle about a bit. Hopefully going to be testing my seperate bag tomorrow but one ride will not really give a true picture of how it performs.

Did you make your new bag for a 2L bladder Ray?

It will take a 2 or 3l, if I use the 2l then I just pull the top mounting strap tighter to keep it snug.

I've tried that setup but not really a fan.

Its difficult to tell how much water is left in the bladder. When its on your back i kinda know how full it is, due to how much i've had to tighten up my backpack straps, and the weight reduction. Also, I find it a pain to refill and pack, due to the shape of the bladder, but that might just be me.

Can then use a hot water bottle on chilly nights, add powders to easily if you use a wide mouth Nalgene or alternatively any old bottle that comes to hand from a shop?

I use either a 4l MSR bladder or a 3l camlebak bladder. Sometimes with one of those roll-up bladders if I need any more. I prefer to keep plain water in the bladder and energy mix in a separate bottle.
