Bar Harness / Bag

So, this weekend was the first time I have combined my trusty old revelate bar harness and my 29er bike.

Considering the high forks inherent to 29ers, 100mm headtube, semi-integrated headset, not many spacers and a 0 degree stem I had some rubbage.

Basically, as soon as the trails turned very steep a bit steep and techy the set up rubbed on the tyre. This resulted in being able to use the forks on the flat but almost locking them out for the descents. Not ideal really.

I had a quick look at a few bikes after the event but there werent that many 29ers to check out.

Has anybody else encountered this? Have you got a solution?

The obvious ways round it are
a) High / closely mounting a smallish diameter bag. Though this still needs to work with brake levers
b) Rigid forks
c) Carry on locking them out.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Dave

No rubbage even when carrying waaaay too much gear ;)

Would also say that some dry bags are better suited. The Lomo ones are longer but a smaller diameter which makes the quite good on the bars. They're also very tough.

It does look higher / snugger than mine but whats happening with the brake levers there*?

*I'll google it*

it looks better, but might still rubbage.

Very close by the looks of things.

29er here (didn't make the weekend) and a Revelate Harness... either a long, slimmer dry bag or (my favourite with a tent) is an Alpkit Escape pod http://www.alpkit.com/shop/cart.php?tar ... ory_id=250....

The straps around the bag mean you can really squish the tent (it's not a dry bag so no sleeping bag) into a thin sausage. Seems not to rub on my front wheel (100m travel fork). Any help?

Had the same issue on my 29er - ended up going for a revelate sweet roll in size small - absolutely vaguely exciting, holds just enough kit and no rub ( and only 75 dollars) :P

Cheers for the feedback.
I had a little play last night. Using the same alpkit 8l dry bag I can just about get it to clear but had to move my brakes up.
