I've got a 2.5 and love it (even though I dislike packs), you can fit an awful lot of gear in one.

I think Flatfishy had a 3 and wasn't too keen, then got a 2.5 which he likes. I think the key to wingnuts is getting used to wearing one and rememering that the shoulder straps should be loose with all the wait supported through the waist/hips.

Got the Enduro and the 2.5

The 2.5 gets used for the majority of my riding, the Enduro is only for winter time when I've got more clothes/bigger sleeping bag/etc.

I love wingnuts and certainly won't be going back to a regular camelbak.

The 2.5 is, as Stu says, surprisingly big. The only drawback is the bladder availability, although camelbak should have a square one available in the US now iirc.

Got the 2.5 and 3. Really like them. Agree with all the positives Stu and FF mention. Never sure the 3 has that much more volume. Seems taller but narrower :?

Hi Chew, Mark was using a 3l one on the December bivvy, seemed to like it. Got zip working on my 2.5 again thanks to some WD40, hope it will last for our trip.

I have never been satisfied with the bladders I have tried in it though. I did wonder if one of these would fit:

I'd be sceptical about that bladder, the sleeve in a wingnut is only behind the main pocket, not the wings. TBH I just use an old platypus and fold it in half to fit.

I use a Hydrapak 1.5L horizontal bladder which fits/works well. A quick internet search isn't turning anything up though, not even on the Hydrapak site.

Kevin's right - I have a 3 litre that I really like - 'wing' pockets are great for secure storage of stuff (wallets, cameras etc.) and the net pockets make great rubbish bins for food wrappers.
On mine there is a large sleeve pocket down the whole sack that takes a full 2 - 3 litre Camelbak bladder like it was made to go there - you can run the hose under your arm from a purpose designed hole/vent in the pack but I just run it out the top of the zipped opening over my shoulder as it's less hassle when taking off/on the pack.
Seems pretty well built and is lasting well so far.

Good point cheeky monkey, maybe need to find a smaller bladder, I have a 2l bladder.

Side pockets hold loads but I used the side mesh ones for drinks bottles with energy stuff in. An advantage of the 2.5 is one of those little sil packs (from our email, not this thread) can sit on top when required.

I got a sil' rucksack very much like the Sea to Summit ones from Poundland ... it's actually very well put together.

Has anyone found a square bladder for the 2.5?
Currently got a Hydrapak one that does the job but I think it's developing a leak. I'm trying to find a new one but this would appear to be is impossible.

Any good, it's about the nearest thing I can find to the Hydrapak ones.

I find the 3L Source bladders to work well in the Wingnut packs (I've a 2.5 and a 3). You can just fill it up to 2.5L and fold the excess over, and of course I can fill it right up when using the bigger bag.
A top tip from me is to place a square of foil backed bubblewrap in with the bladder to insulate your back from the cold of your drink. Of course the works the other way too and stops your body warming your drink...it makes a big difference with the bag not having much padding.

I got a 2 litre Camelbak one for mine. Fits fairly well, but dont know if anything would fit perfectly as the pocket seems to be wider than it is tall.
