Meth stoves?

I'm loving this site and the idea of being independent off road, ie,. Not relying on cafes or B and B's. I've been looking at the meths stoves on the home page and they seem like a great idea.
Flasks don't seem to be able to keep my brews warm in the cold for more than 6 hours and its looking like im gluten intollerant, so no butties allowed. I'm thinking of taking a brew kit and meth stove for having brews on the go and reheating some beans or such on longer rides.
I do already have a lightweight fly stove but it is a bit bulky for an occasional brew.
How long does it take to boil up a mug of coffee? And are they as practical as they look?
Cheers.
