How far ahead of the event can we expect the route to be published?
Thinking about getting some maps to peruse.

Cool.
Also, is there a shop in the village open late on Friday?
Thanks

No - Spar in Carno is open till 7.00 but Newtown is probably your best bet for supplies.

How is the wait list going? Wondering when to make plans or alternate plans.
Thanks

Drop-out rate is pretty low at present. Hard to know whether it'll increase this month or not ... no real pattern to it over the years.

Not even when examined in conjunction with the weather forecast the week before?

Now you may have a point, however I think the 5 day forecast probably accounts for some of those who simply don't turn up rather than those who actually bow out beforehand. I'll keep an eye out this year

would we need the full set of landrangers to cover the route. sheets: 124, 125, 135, 136?

Route isn't fully finalised but those will likely cover things.

Just checking if I should be making plans. I think I started at 18th on the waiting list. Is it looking like any chance I'll get to ride?
Thanks
Dave

Tesco Newtown

That’s handy, seems the Tesco in Newtown has a petrol station; an easy way to grab some food and milk to go without having to leave the bike unattended.

"Tesco in Newtown". Not an uplifting experience. Other opinions are available.

Anyone local to Newton and know the opening times of the petrol station?
Might be the same as the store, if so, 10pm

I've not yet gotten to the point of trying to suck down petrol for sustenance.

Here's a nice picture for all the BB200 riders out there - enjoy.

Flattest BB200 I've seen. Interesting.

The similar picture for the 300 had 7001m of climbing which is 23.3 m/km.... the 200 has 4685m which is 23.4 m/km so the 200 is steeper? That extra 100mm of climbing per km would be the last straw for me, I'd never manage that

Thankfully it's still some way short of my off road record, which was 50.8 m/km in the Dolomites.
