Going away in a few weeks and are looking to take a second pair of shoes to wear off the bike.

Something cheap, pack small and fine for walking around the airport and town on an evening.

Any recommendations?

For those trips where I need them, I've got a pair of Toms which I slide one to either side inside my saddle bag for carrying.
Take up minimal space, lightweight(ish), comfortable but... not what I would call cheap :|

Flip flops tucked into your spokes?

I've used teva sandals before but if you want an actual shoe, maybe a thin soled water shoe would work.

have a pair of these that used hiking in iceland for river crossing; saves getting walking boots wet

made nice camp shoes.

for bikepacking i merely use a pair of cycling shoes in which it is possible to walk.

"Bare-foot running" shoes are light and pack small, such as Vibram Five Fingers, or Merrell running shoes.

Pricey, though, just for something to wander about town of an evening, and Five Fingers are weird (but surprisingly comfy, even when trekking over rocky stuff).

barefoot style shoes would work - merrell or vivobarefoot

I have some Teva Mush Frio shoes, pack light and small, they're a lightweight proper shoe/trainer (not flips flops or sandals)

Keep an eye out for neoprene beach shoes in Aldi or Lidl, they are similar to the Decathlon ones but half the price. Where are off to btw?

Cheers.
Ordered some neoprene beech/surfer shoes off ebay for a fiver.

Me and a few roadie mates are riding from Geneva to Nice generally following the Route de Grande Alps.

Just after something to wear after a day in road shoes

I use inov8’s for this, not cheap (although I got mine half price) but have lasted for 4 or 5 years, so swings n roundabouts

Vivo barefoot do the job for me, my old pair of fabric topped black ones, with the insoles removed. Roll up to about the size of a normal mug each.
