M6 Borders Bivi Spots

Post by Chew »

Bit of a long shot, but going up to Scotland and need to be in Oban for lunchtime on Sat.
Dont fancy the 6 hour drive all in one go, so i'm planning on setting off after work on friday and taking my time.

Any suggestions on a place to stop that could be remote but not too far out of my way?

You probably already know that it's legal to wild camp in Scotland. Turn off at Gretna and you are sure to find somewhere out of the way on the Solway Firth but this area may be a bit exposed to the weather. Kershopefoot on the western edge of Kielder forest may be an option but might be a bit too far from the M6. Hope you find somewhere.
