Quick Ridgeway overnighter

Making the most of the weather, I popped up to the Ridgeway near Avebury with a mate last weekend to try out a spot I've had my eye on for a while. I think it may have been the first bivy this year where I haven't been rained on!
I wanted to try out my new Hexamid shelter before a Dartmoor trip this coming weekend. Perfect conditions, and the wind was from the east which allowed me to comfortably pitch with a view. The Hexamid is a palace for one person! It'll be overkill on most trips, but definitely will be ideal when I fancy a bit more space & comfort than the bivy bag alone.
(clicky biggy)...

Ainsley in his Hunka, making good use of the bail of hay we found nearby...

The morning view, promising a warm day's riding ahead...

Another friend joined us in the morning, we dumped the bags back in the van, cooked a fry-up in the Barbury Castle car park & then rode 40 glorious miles of English countryside (and a quick loop of the Croft trail in Swindon)...
