Eyeing this route up for this summer. Anyone done it? any good?

I haven't done the GT but I did do a trip there a few years ago. Lovely area to explore but I'd advise against doing it on a SS

I drove through the Massif Central on a motorbike once and loved it. I have since always wanted to and will go back at some point but with a bike next time.

I know people sing the virtues and 'purity' of singlespeeds, not tried it, asking for pure pain IMO! I'll stick with gears, and lots of them.
