Seems to be a few 'which' threads, so here's another.

Which padded shorts do the serious long distance riders amongst us favour? I've always been an Endura man and they are ok, I like Sugoi ones but seem hard to find, but my latest purchase - Funkier has been a bit disappointing, comfortable at first but the pad is quickly loosing its paddiness.

The pads in the higher-end Gore shorts keep their 'paddiness' for a long time. I use the Alp-X bibs and although not cheap they are my favourites. So much so I've now got quite a few pairs and won't be trying any others unless they stop making them!

Does anyone else not wear padded shorts ? I've never been able to get on with them ... over the years I seem to have developed an arse like leather

Notwithstanding Stu's iron arse , I've tried quite a few different brands in my search for a comfortable all-day pad & the Sugoi RS is the best I've found so far. Assos Mille was quite good too, and I also like the Pearl Izumi PRO stuff. One tip for comfort, perhaps you're already there, but in my experience bib shorts are way more comfortable to wear than regular shorts. Part of the discomfort you can get with regular shorts is due to the movement of the pad around the undercarriage. Bibs stay in place much better.

the padding just feels weird to me (i never took the time to get used to it i suppose).

i'm currently sporting a pair of 'Gore Bike Wear Plaster Ultra II Baggy Shorts' which come with removable padding (which i always take straight out).

i'm on my second pair - they last as well as any shorts i've used and have loads of pockets.

Im liking my Endura MT500 baggies, Had them a while and my backside still stays dry
Got a delicate arse following an operation so I combine these with some mavic padded shorts which seems to do the job nicely

I bought some Endura Singletrack II last week and I tried them out yesterday. Really like them and they felt pretty comfortable all day. Not padded though....

Pair of Assos Mille's here. Regarded as expensive, but they've been going for 6 years now, which is about £15/year

Pair of MT500's here. Regarded as midrange, but they've been going for 12 years which is about £4/year.
