I am thinking of putting a rigid On One Scandal 29er together for bikepacking/dayride use. Does anyone have experience of this frame for bikepacking and if so what do they think?

I've thought about swapping my Inbred for a Scandal but never have. I like the geo' which is the same on both models but the Scandal frame would save me a lb or so. Always decided against it because (a) I'm too tight and (b) I love steel frames.
If you like aluminium frames Ray, then you really wouldn't go wrong with a Scandal but you wouldn't go far wrong with an Inbred either

I too like steel frames but buying an inbred would mean also buying a new seat post, clamp and front mech but the frame is cheaper in the first place. With a Scandal everything would just swap over from my current frame. Would the weight saving really only be a pound or two?

Rode a scandal for a couple of years and really liked it at the time, however, have since moved to a bike with a slacker head angle (70 degress vs the scandals 71 or 72) and have to say it's much more fun and less likely to tuck its' nose in on you, oh and I was riding the scandal on rebas set to 100mm.
