Anyone got anything planned for the weekend ? A quick sub-24 hour close to home or something a little more 'exotic' maybe ?
I've just packed and am hoping to spend tonight on the highest peak in southern Snowdonia and Sunday night on the highest peak in the Cambrians ... we'll see

Just got back from last night's bivi. Shinything's Alfine was playing up and he wouldn't head into the hills on his SS so I managed to talk him into other means of transport......
My Karrimor Xlite mat's leaking and my Snugpak Travel Lite sac was only just warm enough with a pair of leggings, hooded merino, T-shirt and Montane Featherlight. Last time I used it up on the moor I was toasting and the outside temperature was several degrees colder :?
I'm getting on with my Jetboil though. Before I got mine free with Trail Mag I was sneering at them and dismissing them as fools' trinkets.....

Weather was good when I got home from work Friday night so I grabbed the bike and headed off to the Eildon Hills (only about 7 miles away). Only a short trip out for the night alone but most enjoyable after a crap week.
Stupidly I rode through this, in the middle it was up to the sleeping bag on my bars!
New tent
fire!
Nice morning
