Places of interest off the beaten path in North Wales

Can I ask for some help here please ?

I've ten days or so in October to basically wander about North Wales looking for interesting stuff, I'll be touring on a bikepacking bike with soft bags and a tent and with a couple of books, enough clothes and food to be comfortable, a large unwieldy camera will be accompanying me.

also whisky

Starting off in Anglesey and finishing back there about ten days later, what is there out in the hills thats worth the trek ?, stone circles, obscure art works, long forgotten buildings/churches etc, anywhere upon high is a good thing. I'm thinking about riding thirty to forty miles a day tops as in this case the bike is just a means to an end, theres nothing epic about this trip.

All suggestions gratefully received, many thanks in adavance.

Loads of churches and sights on Anglesey including;
Porth Wen brickworks
Cwyfan church just south of Anglesey circuit
The lighthouse off Newborough is stunning

There is a nice looking gothic church in Anglesey but can't remember it's name. I'm sure it had some bones in it or something

And west of Caernarfon is Eglwys Sant Baglan, which I want to visit as it's almost in the middle of nowhere!

If you head in to Snowdonia you have the bomb store at Llanberis, that's good for a mooch.
Head south toward Nantlle for a jaunt around Dorothea quarry, lots of history there.
Go north to the Great Orme but that might be a bit touristy.
There's the bust damn wall up at Llyn Eigiau.... I mean it's just a knackered damn wall, but still.
The Ogwen valley is picturesque.

If you get all the way over to the Clwyds there's a ton of stuff, but it's a good hike from Anglesey.

The old buildings in the Dinorwig quarries are known as Anglesey Barracks as they housed quarrymen from Anglesey who'd walk there on the Monday morning from their homes then back again on Friday Evening. It's worth wandering around the quarries anyway.

Rhiw-bach is next to Manod quarries which were used to house the national gallery collection of art work during WW2.

I always wanted to do the Croesor-Rhosydd mine trip but never got round to it.

The old ammo store at Llanberis is interesting, access depends on how well they've repaired the fences  You can see this on Google Earth as a square hole to the NW of the village next to the A4086. The hole is about 40% of what's there.

Always worth a trip around the Llýn Peninsula; beautiful beaches and scenery, historic villages and other places of interest. Often overlooked as we get drawn more towards the higher mountains around Snowdon.

There is Llewellyn's palace just by the A55 at Abergwyngregyn. From here there is an ace ride either up the Carneddau onto Drum...past some stone circles....or across the top on a roman road to Conwy. Conwy is fab walled town with vaguely exciting intact castle. They also sell some fab beers.

If you go down towards Lleyn peninsula there is a brill remains of am old settlement, a hill fort, just outside Pistyll. From there you can see over to Anglesey etc.

There is a great set of celtic settlement remains between Holyhead and Cemaes....

Oh, and Segontium roman fort in Caenarfon.

As per summittoppler's pics tho, the industrial stuff in the slate quarries is one of my fave places.

Llanddwyn island (tidal) in the South of Anglesey is definitely worth a visit - great swimming and jumping off rocks in Pilots Cove when all the boats have gone home.
