I know I'm not alone when it comes to lusting after certain bits of kit, many of which won't ever become a reality as the cost can't easily/really be justified ... no matter how hard you try
A few items that fit in to this catogary at present would be a, Crux Torpedo sleeping bag, a BearPaw designs Cuben fibre tarp tent and a Ti Salsa Fargo.
What's on your ' it's never going to happen' kit list?
Cuben pack, TN Laser Ultra, 9:Zero:7 fatbike, variety of racing packs; obscure brands and I don't know which would be best can't buy them all in the search, Orbea Oiz, the list goes on!
Do you know; apart from a front wheel that is fooooked and a saddle which is as comfortable as a Spannish Donkey I'm pretty happy with my gear. No more spending on the horizon. (well until Wildcat sort out a seat bag)

Beth has just finished this for me. 150g partial frame bag, into which I can fit sleeping mat, tarp, moonlight bivvy, first aid kit and few other bits. Cut specifically to allow me to use two bottles on the bike, thus negating the need for anything on my back. Pics to follow, once I've located my camera and cleaned the bike up a bit...
Yes, they're Specialized Z-cages. Saw Aidan had some on his bike for the WRT, and subsequently for the TD. They work well around frame bags, though the vertical one ends up being left handed, which is their only drawback.
Can't remember wherever the Bonty side-entry cages come in LH and RH flavours, might be worth checking if it gets that annoying. Thee are some Topeak (iirc) ones that are reversible, but no idea whether they're any good.
Ian, what's the rough price on the Clouded Leopard? (and on the full frame bag, for that matter). Will probably be looking for one for the winter bivvy. I've heard panniers would be a big faux-pas on trips like that...
