Tenacious Tape (or not...)

After making some (small, thankfully!) holes in the edge of my Superfly recently and discussing possible repairs on here I got some of this:
http://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/ ... _tape.html
Tried it at the weekend. What a load of tosh. Less adhesion than blue tack  I've read the manual, followed it and left to cure for at least 18 hours. Came back to it and it just peeled / fell straight off. Worse than useless
Am I missing something? Is there some knack or trick I'm not aware of or some incompatibility (it's going on silnylon). I'm perfectly prepared to accept it might be user error but I can't understand why :?

How big are the holes?

Silnylon is known for being very slippy. Would anything be able to stick to it?

I've used the 'ghetto fix' - bathroom silicone sealer (clear) mixed with white spirit & painted on. Seems to work fine as a sealer & as a glue to stick a patch over a large hole too

They're embarassingly small in the cold light of day (as the actress said to the bishop)

I would try as Roy suggests.

Tosh, sums up that summary, Arc'teryx shell ripped, Tencious tape patch, jacket has been through hell since, alpine climbing, blizzards, rain, the washing machine, stuff is still there as the day it was patched over 4 years ago

Silnylon is quite slippy though.
Never needed to patch any so far, touch wood.

Glad it worked for you but unless that jacket's Silnylon that doesn't help much
I got the tape because it seemed more versatile for a bunch of situations but yep, I reckon in hindsight the dedicated SilFix kit would be a better choice (or some MYOG sealant).
EDIT - anyone seen it on sale in the UK?

I reckon McNett seam sealer would 'glue' a silnylon patch ... it certainly stick well enough to sil.
