Some Sale bargains from Black's.

Burgtec Composite Pedals - the cheap metal ones I acquired when getting The Onion back just don't seem to have enough grip unless I'm wearing "proper" flattie shoes and it's mainly used as a pub bike so that's useless.

Ergon GE1 grips - I've got on really well with these so standardising across my fleet.

Fox Ranger Shorts - I wear shorts almost all the time, even when not riding. My wardrobe is looking a bit "tired" these days with some ancient bits of clothing so I've started a wee refresh in time for Spring.

Sheffield Greenway book - walking guide rather than a ride but will hopefully make a fun (possibly type 2) 111 mile run at some point fairly soon. Never run more than 50 miles before, but I'm on the wait list for the spine challenger race next year so better set a goal!

Also, there's some loose threads on the socks. Mine came like that too but 2 years later their still the same. Point being, dont accidently be clever and cut them there threads as you'll just knacker em

I had my SOCKS on today for a walk (I didn't see any rules about only cycling in them). Very warm and comfy they were too, even when I was having to kick steps into the more icy bits of snow.

A couple of pairs of Endura mesh liners, a pair of Endura MTR shorts and..... a pair of Madison Zenith zip-off waterproofs. I'm expecting good things of these after reports on here. So far, I'm impressed by the weight and packability, though the legs seem a bit long.

The orange and the blue levels of os map for my “back yard” as it often feel I try to escape with my bike trips but actually live in an area of outstanding natural beauty that I know mere ribbons and bulges of.

My next trip I want to go depth rather than breadth.

Which of their gloves did you go for?

I went for the Ardennes, as the Barrier were out of stock. I find then fine down to about 5°C, any lower and I need more insulation. Not the greatest amount of padding either, if you're after max comfort. The membrane works quite well though, even when they're soaking wet, they're still windproof. Miles better than the 100% Briskers they replaced.
