There's a ton of cody trails.:

Minor Taur: https://www.strava.com/segments/1934603
Cyflym Coch: https://www.strava.com/segments/2383437
Temitwr: https://www.strava.com/segments/1669383
Dragon's Back: https://www.strava.com/segments/7489077

(and a bunch of black trails too)

...and ClimachX: https://www.strava.com/segments/974471

There's a way of downloading them, but it escapes me right now.

Seems the tool I used to use doesn't work any more. There is another way detailed here though: http://www.scarletfire.co.uk/use-your-g ... rava-koms/ (you can get the crs file and convert it to GPX)

I can probably dig a few up from when I've ridden them.....

For what it's worth, you wont actually need to follow a GPX at either. They're both well signposted.

Thanks, I'm on Strava premium so I can download those - just hadn't thought of doing it that way!

I realise they're signposted, but when approaching from the opposite end of the forest, it's handy to know where you might stumble upon one and in which direction they go :geek:

Ah yes, and the bonus of that is coz they're recorded, they're pretty accurate as to where the track is. My friend with his strava premium account makes use of this feature to make really good gpx tracks - and check how rideable an area is, i.e. get maps and and start planning route, draw up on pc for gpx - then compare what's drawn in with strava heatmaps and the like - download tracks and splice in, hey presto, accurate gpx! That process above will work for anyone, Strava account or not. Here's a track I put together for Dragon's Back with it:

Ah cool - how do I download tracks off strava without a premium account? (as I don't have one).

Details here: http://www.scarletfire.co.uk/use-your-g ... rava-koms/

Specifically:

http://strava-tools.raceshape.com/vpu/

Works on segments and rides (depending what you paste in). For segments you need to paste in a particular example of one (so you might click the KOM's effort and copy the URL for that).

Nice to know as all the images I have seen (and the OS mean high water mark) suggests you run out of sand and hit boulders for much of the high tide range.
In 20 years of walking along that beach only ever known it high to the dunes twice.

You can imagine the disappointment some people will face when, having studied Strava Heat Maps with great intent, they set off down one of the BB200 bridleways of 2013. "Look, lots of other people have been that way, it must be OK"

My post operation recovery going well enough to start thinking/planning a WRT "very lite, flat and smooth" route to the bivi spot I was hoping to get to on night one. Travelling very light, eating out and back to the the car 24 hours later.

If I was a mobile phone battery, I'm about 60% charge today and my anti biotic treatment is at an end.

But I bet the wife won't let me out which I guess is understandable, so I'll not be asking her until last minute, fingers crossed I'll be a Pennant by 11am on Saturday

Could make it virtually entirely road based?

Health update.
Less than 2 weeks ago I went under the knife and with complications explained above, but I feel that I've made a great recovery.

But not enough to risk a big ride carrying gear in the hills as my comeback ride. So I'll be riding light and local this weekend wishing you all the best for this weekend.

Stuart has kindly offered me a car parking space some time in August (no weekends free before then) so I can do a delayed start 2016 WRT.
My route will be as planned for this weekend of 130 miles riding lots of beaches from Aberdyfi to Afon Dwyryd and Coed Y Brennin's best bits.
Any Fat Bike beach riders up to the mileage and are free, please drop me a message if you fancy an August trip
