I had a shocker. Bottom bracket bearing failed at 25km, leg fell off my glasses at 50km, bailed at 85km. On the plus side, it did mean I managed to get home just after 23:00 and pop round to a friends 50th birthday party in the village. Every cloud and all that...

Nice to put some faces to names and ride, all be it briefly, with some of you. Really disappointed not to get round, but really, really, disappointed that I didn't get to hang around a bit today and soak up more knowledge and experience; and put a few more faces to names.

For the November group

The surface is 100% rideable.
The gradient not necessarily so in a few places.

Probably the most gravel bike friendly bb route I’ve ridden.
Though a hardtail would be more fun on the single track and technical downhill.

Got Back 00.40, 16 hrs 23 mins.
There was a lot of climbing....

I was thinking a gravel bike would have been the fastest choice. Not the most fun, or the most comfortable, but probably the quickest.

Me, I was glad of suspension both ends. Put a bit of a spurt on at the end to come in under the completely arbitrary time of 18 hours. Happy with that, given I thought 24 hours was an unrealistic target beforehand.

Nice to meet a few more of you lot as well as catching up some I've met before.

I'll not say anymore so as not to spoil it for the November lot... Oh and because I'm about to fall asleep

Nice one Steve. Hopefully I'll get my first in a few weeks' time.

Being really nerdy I think I've worked out most of the route Maybe not the exact roads and BWs but pretty close for much of it.

First ride since 2018, revalidated my black badge with a 5am finish which was more than I could have hoped for with the preceding weeks inactivity.

I had a moan at Stu over my bacon roll that his route was too close to fun, not what I expect from a BB event.

Chatted with a few, notably was present with Boab as his bottom bracket loudly announced its demise and spent a large proportion of the daylight hours with Lune Luke doing the gate open/close double act.

Tiredness and lack of riding eventually caught up with me which along with a good soaking for the last 90 minutes was a bit of a disappointing end to what was a great route in great weather on Saturday.

Back for a 300 next year I reckon

Mega effort, good to bump into you at the start...you were flying!

18.46 - very much faster than I expected due to dusty trails and benign weather. I actually got to see some of Wales this time which was nice, as was sharing good chunks of the day with like minded folk on a similar schedule. Even better was getting to the finish just as the early morning rain commenced

Alex, good to ride with you at the start- was quite happy with 20:05 moving time - not far off 6.5 hours per 100km

You put in a cracking time!

Gravel bike but with MTB gearing. Did that and struggled at times. So much could be put down to my lack of fitness, but some of those tracks were rough as hell, even on 2.1 tyres on a gravel bike.

Enjoyable intro to BB world. Shared a few earlier miles/gates and a coffee with Steve (Slarge?) then solo from then onwards. Finished in 14:10 (12:55 moving) rigid stooge 29+ was perfect. Could've done without carrying an extra 10 hours worth of food but better than going hungry.

Well done slarge on the BB300 completion. Sounds a great weekend for it. Would have at least liked to come and heckle even if not up to riding the full distance. A house move has still not happened (it diverted my attention away from WRT last May!) and fitness suffered. Sounds like a nice 2-3 day tour next year.
