Both events I singed up to do this year were cancelled, plus I couldn't make the WRT. Itching to do something a bit more organised, but only have the gravel bike. Not sure I fancy 36 hours of type three fun...

You'll never have the correct bike Bob because the variation in terrain means it doesn't exist. As the miles tick away then comfort will become a priority, so you'll know whether your bike can fill that role.

Those of you who don't have to book a ferry will be able to go at a moments notice in a good weather window.

Having said that, Dave's journey is probably worse than mine given his location.

I was kind of hoping the few of us riding the 300 would make a small event of it and meet up at the start - wherever that is, and then last one back buys beer

If we can find a start point close to accommodation or a campsite I'd be up for that as I'll want a night's sleep before driving home. Will I get a headstart as I've only got 1 gear

I think I'll do the 300 this year after my slowest ever 200 last year, what could go wrong?!

Me (and I'm pretty sure Al) would be up for something like this on the 'softer' 200 version... Obviously I'd not be around for beers (unless it was ginger from my framebag) but if anyone entered the 200 might put their potential dates up. It might help others also decide to ride same day - albeit from a different location - as it's nice knowing there's others on the track ahead or behind ...

I’ll be doing it the original weekend, finding accommodation near the route on the Friday and setting off early on the Saturday, was going to do it a couple of days over the mid term but then realised the clocks go back on that Sunday and my eyesight isn’t the best in daylight never mind getting dark earlier
I prefer riding on my lonesome mind as , a-I’m fat and slow & b- have very little social skills

I'm hesitant to say it... but you do realise that if the clocks go back you could just start an hour earlier right?

It doesn't magically cut an hour of daylight off the day.
