Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...
I did look at the SA one a while back but adapting it to boost for the Jones was defeating me. In the end I decided I didn't want such a lump on the back given it's not much lighter than a rohloff...
I'll not be spending 2.5 big ones on this one.... I could trail it on the QR Krampus or Straggler I 'spose

E bikes must make stoned cycling a lot easier, save that lung capacity for inhaling properlyI got overtaken by the 'modded e-bike' when I was riding in this week. I'm going to go out on a limb here but with the overpowering smell of weed* when he passed me I'd suggest it's not that he can't afford a car but that he's had his license taken off him**

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...
No, pretty much the middle of the road, but now I know his breakfast preference (weed) I suspect he might have been following the white lines to know where he was going

I found it necessary to give a coach driver some advice yesterday, he was parked over the bike section at the traffic lights, which didn't really bother me and I waited behind him. After the lights went green then red again and he didn't move I decided it was too cold for mucking about so rode down to the front, he was too busy looking at his phone to notice the lights

Updates to the Cotic Solaris just announced - they're going a bit more XC with it, less fork travel, less overlap with the BFeMAX I guess.

Looks good to me, bit less burly and as they say, more back to it's roots. Be interested to see if it is lighter as claimed, and be good to see photos rather than a graphic rendition, when it comes. Personally, i'd rather spend the extra on a Fairlight Holt, for the extra level of attention to detail and slightly more XC appeal, but that's just me.

They shared a pic on their newsletter email:

It's a prototype by Fiveland Bikes who do their UK-based construction, so I guess the Taiwan-built frames will be a little different. Seatstays look noticeably skinnier than the current SolarisMAX.

Oooh, that looks good, and very skinny seatstays, like it! I also like it that Cotic are doing integrated seat binders too, nice and neat, simple, and work well. Had one on my old Rock Lobster and loved it!

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...
^ Really nice. Looks great overall but I particularly like the seat bolt and external cables.

I initially misread that as "wheel-less"
Mind you, given the "artistic" nature of the shot it is hard to see them.

Here we go - a blow up tent for your SUP adventures. Apparently you can erect it and sleep inside while afloat.

Have you seen the TT length though? Just too long for me - short is good....Bearlegged wrote: ↑Thu Dec 08, 2022 12:23 pm Updates to the Cotic Solaris just announced - they're going a bit more XC with it, less fork travel, less overlap with the BFeMAX I guess.

Some one should ping that link to your man in Dartmoor - should be well within his price range and enable him to cruise the byways of Dartmoor shouting at people camping

I think Deliveroo bags would have more cachet than those fugly green items.
