Grim as they are I got some huge gains doing a couple of sessions per week for a while on one. I'd recommend a look at flammerouge.je Tony has some great programmes on there which are personalised to your needs and current level. Very reasonably priced even for the higher end packages.

I found that having a 'plan' made me more likely to do the right thing at the right time

She had seen me looking for winter bags but I said I just my quilt and old summer bag ,so I am a very happy chappy ,she didn't know which to get so I got a very warm bag on the premise that the bag is green ,the inner yellow and once inside I'd make up the colour of a tricolour (feckin irish mentality,and people think I'm a bit simple)
Edit ,on the other side of the coin I'm wandering if she is trying to tell me to stay out more over winter

Stu's kindly bequeathed me the last of the line from the Exclusive BBB Badge And Sticker Collection. I might wrap them in tissue paper, lay them down in the loft, and await the inevitable megabucks auction of collectors' items in a few years time. Alternatively I may stick 'em on the bike and ceremonially cover them in crud during the WE.
