Not quite the postie but Al dropped off a nice carbon MTB frame with bouncy forks and XT hydros. The next project after the Montana is finished.

A new string for a very short hazel bow I was making. Unfortunately, I broke the bow while tillering it the other day - I'm sure it'll come in handy sooner or later.

Wenlock Edge 'Active' OS map from dash4it. Apparently one of the 'single sided' ones which always leave me feeling a bit short-changed. Ah well, the area's twice as nice as some places so maybe it all works out in the wash.

Neoair mini pump just turned up, which felt like a luxury item for my neoair. That said, I think it's about the same weight as my pump sack and takes up slightly less space, all in all seems like a winner.

Technically means I can throw my bivi out and leave it to pump on it's own while I faff with sorting my dinner/drink

Off to the alps this weekend so hope to try it out properly then (will give it a test run tonight just in case though)

Also bought two of these recently, for the Spearfish and UP; both smaller than the previous ring! Never get back from a trip wishing I had a higher gear...

Locking wheelnut key arrived today - Hope it fits as I desperately need to replace some tyres

A new toaster that does looong bits of bread. Mega

Still not found a toaster that satisfies my most exacting requirements. As bored everyone with a while ago, the best one is a battered rusty dented 20-year old Morphy Richards thing which toasts totally evenly across the bread and presents the finished article discreetly and in silence. Unfortunately it's not mine and after showing my interest it's now guarded by lions and various other dangerous animals (ie my mate's wife).

I must admit my toasted bread product requirements are a little unusual. The accompanying tea has to be molten hot, so needs to be made after the toast construction has been fully completed. The toast itself must be stone cold before application of the surface covering, such as butter (which must NOT melt in any way, so has to be applied slowly lest friction causes the temperature to rise too much). In a rush, I've been known to bung the browned toast in the freezer while my tea is brewing. I haven't yet had the courage to mention these little foibles to Stu or Dee when they offer me their nice pre-WRT or pre-WE tea/toast combo.

So, "loooong" or "loooooooooooooong"? I mean, would it brown a french stick cut lengthways in one go for example?

We have an ace local baker but he does not use tins so all his bread is round. This Breville toaster will do a six inch slice so now mornings will be a quick trip to Dans followed by more toast than an alcoholics wedding.
