I had 30 odd km of Sheffield road, parks and woodland commuting between meetings in the SUN today.

Rode the CX bike for the first time in ages.

had planned a trip with mje up to yorkshire dales, but lurgy overtook him so instead I made my self ill by going on 'the work night out'.

that took saturday out of the equation, so a ride out to Hope to collect a birthday present. Wow is it windy!

Yesterday wasn't *too* bad up here - I went for a road ride up the dale - but it would have been pretty rough on the higher roads and tracks. Today has been much windier even at low levels.

I was wasnt it. I was out round Hope and derwent areas, climbs that are normally steady were head down drooling across my cheek affairs.

I had to pedal riding down the stanage causeway. Headwind was so strong it was actually stoping me

Yesterdays actually. I am in Braemar for work for the next few days, as the weather was good I went for a ride into Glen Callater. Wanted to try the WTF with Nano 2.1s for a trip planned for later in the year. Very happy with 'em so far. fit well and run ok on the road, didn't bat an eyelid at the snow on the way up :-bd

Todays ride. up to glen Derry and bob Scott's bothy. Another great day. I can only assume that the weather is broken, given the conditions of most of my days off of the past few weeks(months!!). Rockin' the monster cross setup.

Looks like a good ride Gari, who needs a fat bike! Just gone back to Nanos on the Fargo and they are definitely the tyre for this (and similar) bikes - seem to roll just as well as the weedy thunderburts and they have proper grip off road to boot.

Speaking of fatbikes, finally got some easier snow conditions today - mainly frozen old snow with some sections of breakable crust which were a pain but nothing like as bad as the knee deep windslab that has plagued my last few rides. All in the bright sunshine - its a miracle!

100 mile round trip to Frome on NCN 25, 253 and 24 for a lunch date with the g/f.

That wind was cold.

@mike, it's a Van Dessel WTF.
@htrider, looks good. Hoping to get a chance to ride through the Laraigh Ghru when I get back home next week. Cold and a pretty consolidated snowpack, fingers crossed.

40 miles of slipping and sliding - self inflicted through not changing tyres but in many areas it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Came across a can of STFU half way though - Perspective:

"40 miles of slipping and sliding". Wow, that's Gloop Central, top effort. Great to see a proper warning device on those bars too - almost puts my "Postman Pat" to shame. Works fine apart from on the canal towpath when I sound like a duck and everyone ignores it. (apologies, pic too big :-( )

40 or so miles from home to the top of the Mendips and back. Much more mud than last week, but the 1.75" Smart Sam on the front easily beat the 41mm Knard I took off for grip and comfort. Two cafe stops and lots of sunshine, what's not to like?

I managed a nice 30km ride today,
I was figuring out a way to get from my front door to join the TransPennineTrail. It turns out its only an hour away which opens up a lot more future rides without the need of the car or train.

After the last trip of slipping and sliding, today I had the added fun of wading to the grooviness of the slip & slide. 75 km loop to order my Longitude :-bd

Left the Salsa at home today and took the Genesis out to play. Left home and took the main road to Llandudno which is only 5 miles away and then took the stunning road around the Great Orme. Went to the Summit, a bit of off piste action followed by an explore of the 'gunsights', an area I've not been to for many years. Simply stunning!!

Obviously this would make a great bivvy spot ;)

Despite riding the Great Orme many many times this was the first time I've mixed it up by going off & on road and I must say I bl00dy loved it. And an explore is always good :-bd

Nice fat ride on the Crosby/Formby beach today... well that was the plan until I forgot to check the tide timetable, d'oh !!!

Still, it gave me the opportunity for a little diversion and some dunes I'd never ridden before
