i am pretty sure the monks at Westvleteren would argue with that.

Following the martini up with a Tequila Diablo Rojo. Tequila, ginger beer, cassis and pomegranate liqueur. Rather nice!

That’s a tough choice. I’d have to have a couple of each to be sure…but I’m all outta Orval.

Not quite sure what these hazy beers are all about to be honest? Can't they be bothered to filter them or something? Or is it pertaining to one's state of mind afterwards?

Anyway, snap to your Thornbridge, but McConnel's van stout in Reg's case

PS. Judging by the dates of the previous two posts it seems that BB-ers are sticklers for dry January  .

Been doing an online liver course recently (well, I started it last year and it's going very very slowly). 25ml is the number. Its the amount of alcohol that the liver can process in an hour (or was it 15ml - I'll check if anyone's bothered). Hope it helps someone somewhere look after it from an alcohol POV

Found it. Anyone that doesn't like to think about how/what damage we often inflict on the body, please look away now...

Which reminds, a school mate had a Saturday job at his uncle cafe. His first Saturday was waiting in the butchers for a meat order.
They were somehow slow finding him the leg of liver he requested.

A graveyard full of snowdrops. Look forward to some pics. And one of your nice tales - Frog always gives 'good story' . Come to think of it we don't seem to be hearing many stories at the moment. Or seeing any breakfast photos which is the most important thing  . Mebbe it's just me, I dunno.

As a keen practitioner of graveyard bivvies meself I feel I need to raise my game a bit and try for one of those fabulous Victorian ones like Highgate or something.

Ooh, don't think I'll get the time off work, but if I give the cash, can you bring 2 dozen assorted back? You could fit one of those there front shopping baskets that are all the rage. Cheers.

Arbor Coffee & Chocolate Oatmeal Breakfast stout, 7.4%, pint can thereof. Bought ages ago, mainly because a WHOLE PINT in a can... perfectly normal in the pub, but somehow seems rather decadent at home

Pint in a can, most unusual indeed.

But "Breakfast Stout"....fan as I am these days, even I wait until the sun's over the yardarm  .

Ooooo, I do like a breakfast stout, haven't had one in ages; I do like Arbor beers too. Sure I had a breakfast stout, years ad years ago, that was full of C-hops. Tasted like a grapefruit had been squeezed into it... 😋

Maybe the oatmeal allows it to be classified as a type of porridge (and therefore definitely a bikepacker's breakfast) but I'm still not 100% on board

Broke into the leffe brune I bought at half term - 4€ for a pack of 4, buy one get one free in a Belgian supermarket meant that every spare corner of the boot was filled on the way back from our family holiday.

Tasty and warming as always, but I'm stopping at one as I'll need to ride to work early tomorrow given that there's about 15cm snow on the road and it's still coming down.

Always seems very " filling", but oats / chocolate and coffee flavour s is breakfast in a glass ( or can )

Try their dry hopped stout called "The devil made me brew it" for a slightly lighter touch, 5.5% , and a visit to Arbor Ales Brewery Tap if you are ever Bristol way

I've had some nice ones from them, but not that one. Also had it in my head they were Manchester way, don't know why. This was very good BTW - not too sweet, and a lot of body, which is often lacking in relatively low alcohol stouts. Guess that'll be the oats.

Sadly none left for breakfast, so the usual black coffee. Specifically a Columbian washed process. I'm as much of a nerd about coffee as beer. On the acidic side of what I prefer, but very nice.
