I shall email out a detour that bypasses the BW that runs through Dreavour Farm. Obviously, you are quite within your rights to be there but doing this helps keep the peace.

I also bailed on the 200 - report on the other thread.

Hats off to anyone who completes the 200 or 300 in any time. - It was brutal in the conditions.

I got shouted at by 2 different farmers in the dark. One claimed there were cattle up on the track and they would be spooked by the torch and jump the fences (no sign of said cattle). The other claimed not to know that there was a bridleway through her land!

Maybe report to Powys Highways Authority for willful blocking of a public RoW.

Edit: Just checked for TROs in Powys. Permanent - https://en.powys.gov.uk/article/2446/Pe ... y-in-Powys, temporary - https://en.powys.gov.uk/article/2444/Te ... y-in-Powys. The Gap is mentioned but it's a permanent restriction on motor vehicles. Also worth reading is https://en.powys.gov.uk/article/2438/Ma ... hts-of-way

Aye. Worth a photo if nothing else.

Edit - Just checked both Middle Ffynnonau and Dreavour... they're both full on bridleways, not even permissive / track / whatever.

Just to give a counterpoint - I had no issues with farmers. The only one I saw was all smiles.

Thanks Verena, redefined_cycles and Richard G.
This was my first BB200 and I feel somewhat ruined now!
Chapeau to everyone who gets out there at all.

That's a bit harsh Stu, we've all put on a few pounds during lock-down but he's no giant haystacks

I like to think it's his likeable personality and approachable manner... but the farmers might just have been wondering why he was riding in the opposite direction to the other riders they'd seen

Was thinking the same thing Mike , and I went through quite a few farms and had to back track on the bit of the big bear I did and all I got asked was if I was alright for water or anything, don’t think the “hello I’m Mike from Bromsgrove” approach will work round there

Could have been worse, you might have been mistaken for Kendo Saginaka

I let the gate get away from me at the grumpy farmer's which set the dog's off noticed that I was being watched but when I went to the correct gate to head up to the house he disappeared .
Made a complete mess of navigation trying to find the bridleway from Offa's Dyke in the dark plus GPS was doing daft things . I was parallel with the right route but it was to steep to get back on course so that's me done . I am still very close to the route do may continue on it anyway .
Good luck all who have yet to go .

Keep going raggedstone- if you’re still riding then “close” to the path is good enough!!

In the BB200, "vaguely near" the path is often all we can hope for.

I was really hoping for a couple of days of good weather before my attempt, but it seems like it just can't stop raining. I really wish I could find another way to fit it in other than doing it this week.

Oh well, I guess I'll be getting the full on bogmarch experience like the other riders that have done it.

Yeah, keep going Kevin. And canal paths just don't compare really
