It's been in the early 30°'s here for the last 3-4 weeks, you must be going somewhere exotic?
The bars are 730mm, they look wider because of the angle of the picture and they have the bar ends on them, the steerer does look daft but my hacksaw got stolen as well so I couldn't cut it down!benp1 wrote:Those bars look so wide I'm not sure they'd fit down any doubletrack! Coupled with the long steerer it makes an interesting combo!
This is now the third Spearfish I've oned.ZeroDarkBivi wrote:Very nice, Greg. I kove my green one. Not the least bit envious...
YEMD obviously. Personal taste added too, but yeah. Works for me.Zippy wrote:So they're that good then Greg? Interesting!
Interesting. I know what you mean about the Tiger and dry bag - there's a lower limit to the volume it works with and you end up looking for stuff to put in there to make it work, even on the HT550 I was looking to see what else I could put in there. I've the larger, Drover, model but the smaller Wayfarer does go down to 3 litres. The Tiger's not best for quick access whilst riding either, but that's no different to any harness + bag setup.jameso wrote:Defiant Pack medium seat bag, after useful responses to a wanted ad here (thanks). This is almost perfect, simple strapping with roll-end, 3l size for summer super-light overnighters or carrying an insulated gilet/jacket and some food on longer day-into-evening type rides. As much as I like the Wildcat Tiger and much prefer that system for carrying 5-10l bags, this mini version of a trad seatpack is an easier solution for fewer things in a smaller pack. Pic here is rolled almost right down with just a primaloft gilet and a few bars in. From backcountry.scot.
