That one looks amazing. It's like one of those photos in those lists of incredible photos of places you will never visit, only this one is actually doable... and just doable but doable while out riding your bike. 8-)

Found it. I'll keep it buttoned for now though.s8tannorm wrote:Where did you find the one by the llyn Ian? ... I know it was the internet but wondered if you had anything more specific
EDIT: found the picture, just got to locate the bothy now.

Anyone know where this bothy is?
Looks like some of North Wales finest Rhyolite on the cresentic looking crags in the background with a hint of second nearby lake in the photo - I think I may have this one located too... I used to go bouldering up there if it's where I think it might be.Ian on Thu Nov 14, 2013 11:08 pm

Might go from the north too once the ground is frozen - a good ride with the new fatty. Should make a good winter ride and bivi venue... thanks Ian.

OOOOOSHHH
Re: New Bothy in Welshest Wales
So now this has been completely outed as snakes and ladders here's the flickr gallery that Ian's pic came from. http://www.flickr.com/photos/66871512@N ... 088480481/
This route even has it's own blog, haha. http://snakesladdersandtunnels.blogspot.co.uk/
Doesn't really seem like a sensible way to get there with a bike. Unless you strap it to your back with the wheels off I guess.

Re: New Bothy in Welshest Wales
I'm sure there was a video or maybe a magazine feature or something where a guy did a ladder climb to the top of somewhere with the bike in bits on his back then rode down. Any ideas any one? I have been looking but can't find it.

Rob Jarman in MBUK, promoting Saracen on Italian Via Ferrata, IIRC.

Very nice, not sure how it relates though
I spent a few nights in the Quarries in my youth. Mates brother did a lot of exploring there and they put up the odd route on the Slate. Those ladders were bloody shocking back then with rungs falling out / giving way under weight. Braver / carzier man than me in some of those shots 8-)

That's definitely Honister, he came down the easy side though. It's Warnscale he should done, one of the best/difficult downhills in the Lakes..
