basically looks ok , just gonna aim to get to knition in time for food of some kind then get on with sloggin till i run out of batttery power (lights) or energy and sleep for a couple of hours hopefully well in to the second half ! haha the last part doesnt look single speed friendly but i do have less kit this year haha

I'd rather carry a singlespeed than a geared bike up some of those hills. I imagine those road miles in the first half will be frustrating though.

There's a pub marked on the map at Felindre about 200m off route, no idea if it's actually or still there or what it's like. From previous experience (limited) most of the "villages" on the map are just a few houses, no shops or other services.

Edit: Just been using Google streetview to go round Bucknell and there doesn't look to be a lot there, probably best carry on to Knighton unless you are in dire straights, it's only another 6Km or so.

If you are on a pub crawl then there are watering holes at Llanbister, St Harmon, Pant y Dwr (really hope it doesn't rain before I get here!), Llanidloes and the Star Inn just before the finish

I suspect the Star will be closed when I get there... or open if things have gone HORRIBLY wrong.

I'm also hoping to make Knighton (night town?) for food, maybe do a couple of hours riding in the dark then find somewhere to bed down for a few hours..

Knighton is the English name; Welsh is Tref-y-clawdd which means Town on the Dyke.

If anyone is looking for a good pub in Knighton, the Horse and Jockey is good, situated between the railway station and town centre.

I can recommend the doner pizza from the place next to the clock tower in Knighton and the chippy 30 yds up always seems popular.

Will the pizza place be open when I get there at 15:00?

Found these opening times for the chippy: Opening Hours: Mon – Sat 11.30am – 2pm & 5pm – 10pm and for Chandos Kebab: Opening Hours: 12pm – 12am Everyday

Win. I wonder how well I can digest a kebab whilst cycling. lol

It can be done, I did it on the B150 with chips, Coke, ice cream and chilli sauce.
