God damn this weather. Am at Trawsfynydd, hiding, after being thoroughly demoralised by the sideways rain and wind.

Just keep moving and you might get lucky, weather seems to be variable between one valley and the next.

Up at the top end of the checkpoints it's much of muchness. Just made it to Llanwchllyn. Found a nice pub with wifi :-bd

Broken the back of my route now, less than 100km to do which I'll likely split between some extra riding this evening and the rest in the morn.

Am pretty much soaked to the skin, so tonight's Bivvy will be an interesting affair.

Vaguely weather related... Obliterated a brand new pair of waterproof trousers doing Snap of Snap, Crackle and Pop fame.

Seems the Apidura binding elastic can't deal with that sort of punishment. It snapped, and my trousers decided not to fall off behind the bike, but instead wrap themselves around my cassetes.

Descents were fun apart from that!

^^^ bummer, I've never trusted those retention things. I know yours snapped but it's far too easy for stuff to fall out.

Having looked,it seems they didn't snap, but came out if their holders. I think you're right not to trust them.
