I have to work now I am afraid. Shame as it would have been cool to catch up Ray, I may well have even been able to keep this time around, maybe?!
Have a good trip. I really fancy the CT as a tour sometime in the spring so shall keep an eye how you get on.

Thanks Ray, hopefully get a chance to get down there the following weekend. I've been working like mad and missing a bit of adventure in my life! Hope you all have a good one!

Right then, last call for anyone else apart from Alasdair and Jamie. If you intend to turn up at the pub let me know before 10pm Friday 4th. If no one else shows an interest then I am heading straight to the Bothy and will probably cycle down from Edinburgh.
Alasdair and Jamie, what are your plans for Sunday?, I'm assuming you will be heading back to Edinburgh on a route of your own devising. Also, if you want to bring some of your own music then please do, any player with a 3.5mm headphone socket will do, phone, mp3, etc.

On Sunday I'll probably take the Capital Trail route back into Edinburgh as it'll hold up to all the rain, unless I decide to reverse my Saturday route.
The forecast is for heavy rain throughout though...

Currently leaning towards sacking this off what with Saturday's forecast gales

I'm shortening my route down there certainly, but not just for that reason.
My only fully working bikes at the moment have skinny tyres or no gears, so hills won't work for me.
I think I'm going to take the Capital Trail clockwise - there's really only one or two big climbs isn't there?

Yes, a longish climb into the Lammermuirs then a short steep one after the hunting lodge.
Do we want to postpone it to next weekend? I'm easy either way.

POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT WEEKEND DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER. The Three of us that were going to go this weekend have agreed to postpone this until next weekend, that is Saturday 12.
Rather than meet at the pub please make your own way to the Bothy. Hopefully some of you that couldn't make this weekend can now come along. PM me for the Bothy location or email me at youngray50ATgmailDOTcom

I think you are confusing the Southern Honey Bunny with the Southern Upland Bunny which tends to look like this -
You still in?

So now we're on a red warning for rain according to the Met Office.
I think the decision to cancel was right for two reasons, firstly the amount of rain falling and secondly the fact that this rain may have made accessing the bothy difficult...

Remember that I am now heading straight to the Bothy so if you still need the grid ref then PM me.
I am meeting up with Blair512 at Edinburgh Waverley station by Smiths at 12.45-1.00 for a 35 mile ride out and 32 mile back if anyone wants to join us. Don't expect a fast pace

I'm still planning to make my own way down - I'm riding down with a mate via Peebles, he's making his own way home from there. I should have a dynamo-equipped bike by then so might be along a bit later depending on my route of choice, and our pace on the first leg.
Any idea when the Lauder shops shut or is Melrose the safest choice?
