Righty 'O here we go ...

When: Sat Dec 6th. Noon to allow an hour or so for faffing, so underway around 1.00.

Where: SJ 018134 (Explorer 239) Forestry car park signed Pen y Ffordd / Rainbow Trails. Note - carpark not shown on all maps but it is there.

Final route will largely depend on weather and numbers but don't expect an epic, probably 25 - 30 miles at most. Our overnight spot will also be dictated by numbers / weather but come prepared for a night outside. Hopefully we should be back early afternoon, there's always the option of a cruise down to the Cann Office public house at Llangadfan upon our return.

I can promise - wet feet, some hills, a cafe, 3 tussocks (I've counted them), some farm dogs on chains, 2 barbed wire fences and a goose.

I can't promise - owt else.

PS - are we having the usual Winter Bivvy 'cook off'?

Stu - what map is going to give best coverage of where we are going?

Explorer 239 covers it all.

If there's a cook off I might bring a bit more alcohol. Cooking is definitely not my strong point, and on a meths burner I might just get hot chocolate and a pot noodle. And a bag of crisps.

So far I'm not planning on contesting the cook off unless I get some inspiration in the next week. :|

I might send some of this cheese that's trying to escape from my camelbak down to Stu so you can knock up some sort of campfire fondue set.. :-bd

In that case, I think we should forego the 'cook off'

The portable pizza oven is not there yet, several filed test have resulted in either a Black charred mess or uncooked soggy dough..
