Looks like Andy is having a well earned rest along the romantically titled "Mineral Exploration Rd" near Rawlins Wyoming. It looks properly remote!

That road has ONE house on it. The descent on the track to the road is awful - I nearly got off and walked last year though have no such recollection from 2011 when trying to avoid a storm that was all around us. Other riders said how wet thry got but we were fine. Also met 3 NoBo riders on the descent climb for them) to Min X road.

In 2011 at about 10.30pm I was falling asleep on the bike and got off and went into the only gateway I could see along with Joel Martinez who is doing the TransAm Race). Next morning looking around we were at the end of somebodies drive not far from the house. We got up and left without a problem. It was only last year when I rode it again that I realised that in ~25 miles of road it was the only property.

One other thing; racing in 2011 I had started out from Atlantic City and stopped 25 miles short of Rawlins and the next day I crawled into town and had the rest of the day off. Last year I did it in one arriving in town at dusk while touring. The difference being accumulated fatigue probably.

Over 24hrs faster than I was in much harder conditions.. vaguely exciting ride by Jeffe. Would be interested in his thoughts on SS vs gears on the route.

Andy is having a well earned snooze in Colorado. Looks like a camp ground on the aerial view but the street view doesn't help much! :???:

Interesting post from BP.net - 30 years since the Moe brothers went long-distance touring along the Great Divide.

This might be mentioned on the thread but the story of Kurt Refsnider's coincidental divide is a fascinating addition to their story.

Andy is in the Toaster House in Pie Town. Wondered what he has ordered? 300 miles to go so likely to be around 24 days.

The Moe's were proper adventurers, not like most of us lot....

Chuffed for Andy, he'll be happy to beat the 25 day target. Looking forward to tales of the divide next time we meet up.

Great to see Andy ahead of target despite such a tough start. Still in blue too : ) Logged on after a 10-day break and it seems a lot of riders have succumbed to diversions and even 'non-regulation' practices like lifts in a few cases?

Very much so ... there's seems to have been much confusion/debate/mild falling out about road closures, detours, orange dots and mis-information this year, so to make it through unscathed is a great result - well done that man.
