See i can't think what Stu has got in mind with Pennal.

You could ride back out towards Mach and then up the fire roads towards Tarrenhendre but it's a big slog up with not much going on. Maybe he's thinking loop back round the back and head towards Dolgoch falls or head out towards CAT or Corris but then you'd start in Mach??

There's a Cafe @ King Arthurs & @ the Falls but both would be a long ride back to the car.

You could ride out and up Happy Valley but that's quite a lot of road to kick off with.

You could go straight up from Pennal to Tarrenhendre I've done this and would never do it again.

Hi guys, i'm gutted to say it looks like i'm going to have to bail on this!

I had a pretty big off on Saturday and not only broke my bike but also broke the head of my radial bone and elbow, am in a fair bit of pain and been told i'm looking at 4-6 weeks recovery .... my bike took a big wallop and i've bent the seat post and seat post tube so will need to get frame checked i guess not had it long either

I'm searching for a static bike just so i can keep my legs going or my fitness is gonna take a dip and Januarys event would also be in doubt

Been off work two days and i'm bored still already!!!

I've just got to check on a couple of possible overnight spots this weekend but the general route is sorted in my head. Nothing taxing apart from a couple of short/stiff (but interesting) climbs ... maybe 15 miles on Sat and 10-15 on Sunday. Hopefully we'll drop down to Tywyn on Sun morning, I'm not sure if any of the cafes will be open but there'll be food / drink of some sort on offer.

Bikehike has it down as 48.5km and 1028m of ascent. Start / finish at 7m above sea level, climb to 350m (3 times) and at some point hit 2m above sea level.

That's nothing to brag about, I barely saw olly whilst I was riding with him 2 weeks ago. He was using child size wheels to be fair.

I'll have my TS too, so there best be enough room!!
