Right then, might as well put this here as anywhere.
Have finally acquired the Ti for my new windshields and some tiny fuel bottles (15ml, 20ml, 30ml, 60ml), so I've rebuilt my "overnighter" and "two-nighter" kitchens. This all stems from buying my new Wildcat seat harness and framebag, necessitating moving my kitchen from my seatpack into the framebag.
The game is to fit the whole lot into the pot with an elastic band round it. So what needs to fit in? Pot with lid, bowl, windshield & clips, insulating stove stand, meths stove, fuel, matches, spoon, porage in a bag, ovaltine in a bag. Need the bowl because I make and eat the porage first, keeping some hot water back for the ovaltine which I then make in the used porage bowl.
Unfortunately I can't find an easy way of fitting 350ml of water in the 400ml pot as well - dehydrated water anyone? - so that gets filtered as required or taken my from 500ml bottle in a stemcell. I often take 175ml of milk for the porage too in a tiny school kids milk bottle.
So, the "overnighter" is a 400ml Ti pot + lid (75g), bowl (8g), Ti windshield (9g), stand (0.5g), matches (10g), stove (8g), 13ml fuel (19g), folding spoon (20g), porage (50g), ovaltine (10g),
total: 209.5g. Would be nice to get that below the 200g - maybe just take one match & striker. Maybe a crappy "takeaway" plastic mini-spoon instead of the Ti one but I do like a nice proper spoon. Here it all is separate, then stashed in the pot. Real "russian doll" stuff eh?
